I've only got 1 source for them right now anyway. I tried switching over to some orc troops (shaman for giants, catapults for alchys) but they didn't do very well. I don't think I've got any sources for dragons or ogres yet, which are the only real alternatives to the giants, and I can't pick them up anyway without taking a morale hit. I've got 3 range troops (archers, cannoneers, alchys), 1 mob melee (dwarves), and 1 uber HP (giants). That's OK, I suppose, but I'm very limited for what I can plug into their spot. My dwarf crew (well, sub human archers for the miners) was doing very well, but these battles can kill my giants and I've run out of replacements.
I've just about cleared the elf zones, but the difficulty of the competition took a decided jump. I suggest that programmers should start program with their hands instead of using their feet. Quite weird, now the problem is to know how fix this crap, it's cleary a game setup, embedded in save game but there's certainly a way to get back the standard setup. I have to reach again this point to know.ĮDIT3: Ok this is linked with the use of the broken elevator you help to fix in the gnomes mines. It's after have fix it and use it that the problem appeared when I came back in the mines. But this strange behavior could also be linked to a bug with the elevator you help fix in the gnome mines. I wish Europe stop making games or learn design game interfaces.ĮDIT2: Reload the previous save fixed he problem, well "only" one hour lost but what a crap, some people would really need some head bashing. I hate so much all those crap interface design we get in some recent great games like the Witcher, Drakensang and now King's Bounty. Is there any way to change this setup?ĮDIT: Woo I dropped my game.ini and this setup hasn't been reset. In underground the camera is very close to my character, very unpleasant. I'm almost sure to have change the camera height setup. And few I get too late like Werewolf Elf or Alchemists. That's a lot and there's quite many that seems appealing but could not try because of a lack of resources like Vampires, Unicorns, Cannoners, Horseman. If I list the units I found quite cool during some part of the game, it's a quite long list: Knights (with speed spell but soon give up because of a lack of resources for this unit), Royal snakes, Sea dogs, Priests, Bears then Ancient bears then Pole bears, Beholders, Evil Beholders, Ghosts, Cursed Ghosts, Hunter thorns, Royal thorns, Shamans, Druids, Catapults, Griffins, Giants, Cyclops.
And druids (with help of sacrifice spell) or Giants (they aren't compatible from a morale point of view). My current team is Cyclopes, Royal thorns (with help of sacrifice spell), Shamans and then Pole bears or Griffins. In the mines and at beginning of the area after I got chance to find enough Cyclopes and Giants to use them. At this point pole bears are the troop that does the more damage (the troop not each unit). I also enjoyed a lot Royal snakes but left them when I discovered new possibilities through ghosts and pole bears.
In fact the game beginning doesn't highlight it so well but as game progress that improves a lot (or I found more all the finesses). But managing the troops resources is just (slighty boring) basic management and each fight is just isolate deleting any strategic approach.īut it is quite more advanced from a tactical point of view. The only really strategic elements is finding the right party combinations. Click to expand. To bring a different point of view, I don't feel the strategy element is so important, much less than in games like Heroes of M&M.
